ANNIE MOON DOLLS can be found in
rare little shops that you find on a Sunday drive to the country, with an inviting front
porch to a seeker of the unique. They're also found in those fine cafe/esoteric gift
stores downtown where they'll serve you good coffee and a hot chicken salad with mandarin
orange atop crusty baguettes on your lunch break. Through Annie were best times, daytrips and errands included the French Bakery, Melvin's Deli at Wards Corner, Mike's in Ghent, and Doumar's, matinees to see Butch Cassidy and Diner; discovering Kurt Vonnegut and happily debating any book or [sub]cultural offerings; art shows she showed in: pulling us toward creative people like Barclay Sheaks, A B Jackson and Norman Goodwin-- similarly broad-minded folk (it's a bonus when friends agree on people). ![]() We can still see her elephant painting hanging in the bathroom of a beach apartment; always reading or working with some unsung medium. She's nuts about found art which is proverbially putty in her hands, moreso than a new brush or tool from an expensive art supply store: I learned fish boxes for bookshelves made moving so much easier. She sees things and they become... IDEAS which speak and resonate. Annie Moon's artistic nurturing from so many years back has been one of the most valued blessings of my life and I've missed her greatly. Though we no longer do our two-hour phone conversations as when she lived up the road: we've found her again!
