Re: Norfolk Academy card (top, 1st) reads "Here Edgar Allan Poe addressed his last lecture." Norfolk Academy was founded in 1728, Virginia's oldest; this site was on the southeast side of Church Street.
Re: 'New' Norfolk General (row 2, 1st) with 'new' Medical Tower circa late 1950s (home of Balaban's Deli) to see the 'Old' Norfolk General they replaced, go to Potpourri (top row, right).
